Branding
In the case of designing a customer-specific solution, it is important to understand how GlobalIPTel defines the term “Branding”. Branding refers to the aspects of customization that can be changed prior to building and deploying the softphone executable. Creating a brand/build involves creating or selecting a version, features, a skin, languages, and the settings to build. The customer can have multiple “versions” of brand for different purposes such as a production brand, test server brand, unencrypted brand etc. However, changes made within the Branding process, does not always constitute any code changes.
What means White Label
A White Label is an individually skinned softphone version without any reference to Global IP Telecommunications. You will get the right to offer the softphone as your own phone on any media without any limitation on quantity. SIP server settings will be hard coded to your SIP Proxy. Autoprovisioning for User Autoconfiguration is available on request (as above).
What means Co-Brand
A Co-Brand is a standard Global IP Telecommunications softphone version including your CI colors, logo or a special skin (X-Web: only your logo is added). It includes also the Global IP Telecommunications Logo and URLs. Regarding to your license you will get the right to offer the softphone on any media of your choice (CD-ROM, download, etc.). The SIP server settings will be hard coded to your SIP Proxy. Autoprovisioning for User Autoconfiguration is available on request (as above).
Settings
Branding has two aspects to it: Factory Settings and Graphical Settings. In Factory Settings, changes are made to items such as the Domain, Proxy, URL, Product names etc. In Graphical Settings, the changes are made specifically to the graphical elements within the software. Either aspect depends on an understanding of the customer's needs.
Branding Process
In oder to give the softphone a unique and differentiated look that furnishes the specific branding style required by the customer, we usually take the following steps:
- The Customer gives us information/documentation about their planned project.
- GlobalIPTel reviews the delivered information and provides feedback based on feasibility/timelines/costs etc.
- The Customer provides graphics to build a draft model or GlobalIPTel provides you with the needed graphics.
- GlobalIPTel's team produce a beta build and review it with the customer.
- After ensuring that all specifications are met and any adjustments required are completed, a final build is created.
If the customer requires changes to their build, our branding engine allows us to make ad hoc changes quickly, usually within a one day delivery.
